Long Time No See

Weekends have been Good. But I have not been actually blogging them cos I don't want my blog to turn into a travelogue, though it looked like it few months back. Always wanted to blog, but wondering what to blog i restrain myself for the tricked thoughts that flow in. So finally i decided i would write something about things that I saw that were different.

What they forgot to mention in Lonely Planet(
I think...)

Few points for all those Indians who would be landing in UK
- In Office, always setup a meeting before you go and talk to anyone. This issue could hardly take 5-15 minutes, but still you gotta fix up an appointment before you go meet up someone for official work.
- There is no conductor, in a bus(I guess most of us know this. Afterall, we gotta learn something from Keanu reaves in Speed. I know thats US, but the funda applies here too).
- Inside a Bus there are lot of places where you would see a nice big red coloured button. Thats to tell the bus driver that, you would want to get down in the next stop.
- You always gotta thank the driver before you get down. But you don't get to curse him, if he was a rash driver. Its UK after all, so mind your Ps and Qs.
- The roads have a separate lane for buses,it helps in escaping all those city traffic jams.
- Before you rush into a bus in a stop, make sure there is no one waiting in queue before you. Bombay waalas would have got used to this
- most of the streets would have something called as 'Queen's Crossings'. which are no different from the zebra crossings of India. Only difference being, in India, there is always a competition b/w the road user and the vehicle driver on who manages to surpass whom. Thats not the case here. Here the road users are given more preference that the vehicle drivers, so they gotta wait if they see you standing at a Queens' Crossing. I wonder why they call it whatever they call it. I guess its a lot obvious considering that, this country has been ruled by a queen for so long.

Cant think of anything more right now...
