Phoren trip...

Well.. Well.. Well... The land of the Brits is not very welcoming. After facing and living thru all the twists an turns of an eventful travel, I reached the London. Rewind.... Let me tell about the travel experience as a whole. I had asked the Taxi guy to come and pick me at 1.00am for the 4.15 flight, apprehensively, thinking, 3 hours of lead time is just too much. Guess the rain gods heard that. He showered rains like he wanted to drench the burning hell. And it took me almost 1 and half hours to reach the airport, fighting thru the waters that had clogged the roads, the traffic jams, the fickle minded taxi driver who was not interested in going to the airport, the useless traffic cop, and few more challenges. Answering to the airport staff about the extra luggage, openeing my luggage cos the CISF cop felt that my umbrella could be a bazooka, were just few of them. After wondering about how the trip could start so well, i boarded the flight... Just to learn that i did not have a seat.... in the economy class. I had it in Business Class. :) The Emirates air hostesses were not as 'interesting' or service oriented as i had actually expected them to be. taking a nice nap, couple of extra orange juices, i had a nice time. Dubai, was where my stopover was scheduled. It was hardly for about an hour, so hardly had anytime to look around. boarded my next flight bound to london. Reached there, just to find that my luggage was not there in the airport. Contacted the helpdesk, and understood that the luggage is safe and sound on its way in another flight bound to London. So i had to spend couple of days without toothpaste, shaving cream, a spare pair of undies (i know its disgusting..), and lot more things. Reached the Acco that had been arranged for me(Thanks.. Meril), luckily found the extra pair of u-know-what, and thanked the gods. I also found few more things which would exactly support the two days of sustained existence. Now about my views on England... not that i have seen lot of it or something. But it is nothing more than an orderly India. the Brits had made enuf arrangements in India, to make it look like Britain(as far as possible). That includes the traffic lights, the street lights, the buildings, and lot many more subtle similatrities. The climate is just awesome(atleast as of now). England as a whole, hardly seems to have any patch of land that has not been touched by humans. though mostly agrarian in land occupancy, it looks orderly. The view from the flights gave a clear picture of how the varying green coloured patches cover the lands. But the past two days, sitting in office, i guess I waill run short of time to look around England, Scotland, and my more ambitious plans. Its not like there is lot of work, but it takes lot of time to do even the simplest tasks, due to the gap in working knowledge on these kind of projects. But guess two days and a document down the line, I am comfortable now. Atleast i know that i have to start pretending to be so. Interesting and challenging days ahead.. Ciao.
